Merrimack aids Flint water crisis

By Staff | Mar 13, 2016

Three students at Merrimack High School recently decided to use the promotion of a basketball game as a way to help bring awareness to a larger cause.

Dan Jagjit, Sean Lyons and Jessie Londono decided to sell raffle tickets to students to raise money for the water crisis in Flint, Mich.

"We wanted to promote the basketball game, and we thought we could raise money for a good cause at the same time," Lyons said.

At two separate games, three individuals were chosen from the raffle tickets and got the chance to shoot baskets. Whoever scored the most points won a $50 gift card.

Overall, the three raised about $240 that will be sent to the American Red Cross to help provide clean water to children affected by the water crisis.

Danielle Oullette is a senior at Merrimack High School.
