ASSUMPTION COLLEGE

These local students graduated this spring and received bachelor’s degrees from Assumption College in Worcester, Mass.

FROM AMHERST: Colin Cray, major in global studies: world environmental concentration and a double minor in geography and management; Colin Ginnard graduated with a major in organizational communication.

FROM HOLLIS: Kathryn Peik graduated with a major in biotechnology and molecular biology; Kristen Peik graduated with a major in marketing and a double minor in German and foundations of western civilization.

FROM MERRIMACK: Lea Rossi graduated with a triple major in education, mathematics and music. Rossi also received the departmental award for mathematics at the College’s 31st Annual Honors Convocation.

FROM NASHUA: Caitlin Ackerman graduated with a major in human services and rehabilitation studies and a minor in education; Allison Gregory graduated with a major in accounting and a minor in fraud examination and forensic accounting; Andrew Scalzi graduated with a double major in history and political science.

CANADIAN UNIVERSITY COLLEGE

Nelson Horsley, 2010 graduate of Nashua High School South, son of Sylvia Horsley, MD, graduated April 2015 cum laude from Canadian University College with a Bachelor of Science in biology. He has been accepted into medical school at Loma Linda University School of Medicine in California for August 2015 in part based on an outstanding MCAT score of 41. He will be attending medical school at the alma mater of his grandparents James and Una Horsley as well as numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

CASTLETON STATE COLLEGE

James Buckley, of Nashua, was named to the spring 2015 dean’s list at Castleton (Vt.) State College.

Jessica Ann Roberge, of Mont Vernon, a junior majoring in biomolecular science, was named a Presidential Scholar for the spring 2015 semester at Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y.

Elizabeth Argereow Cassady of Merrimack, a sophomore majoring in global supply chain management at Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y., received the Commendable Service Award for Sophomores at the University Recognition Day ceremony in April.

Kara Michele Jolly, of Merrimack, graduated this spring from Clemson (S.C.) University, with a Bachelor of Science in biological sciences, cum laude.

CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY

Sean Carpenter, a senior from Hollis, was inducted this spring into the Omega Lambda chapter of Alpha Psi Omega, a theatre national honor society, at Concordia University in Seward, Neb.

Carpenter also particpated in a 13-day study tour held May 12-25, led by Concordia Professor Lisa Ashby and Associate Professor Bryan Brown, that focused on both theatre and literary sites on the East Coast. The group spent the majority of its time in Massachusetts, but also toured several theaters and watched theater productions in Boston, New York City, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Pa., and Buffalo, N.Y.
