Here are college achievements by students from Greater Nashua:

BINGHAMTON UNIVERSITY

These local students were named to the fall 2014 dean’s list at Binghamton (N.Y.) University:

FROM AMHERST: Neal L. Bonenberger, Erin L. Heaney.

ST. LAWRENCE UNIVERSITY

Christopher H. Hyde, of Hollis, a junior government major at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. was inducted into the university’s chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa, the national leadership honor society.

STONEHILL COLLEGE

Milford native Zack Colclasure, a member of the Class of 2017 at Stonehill College in Easton, Mass., was named a Stonehill Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) Summer 2015 Scholar. The SURE program provides students with an opportunity to perform significant, publishable research under the guidance of an experienced faculty researcher at the College. Colclasure will be working with associate professor of philosophy Edward McGushin on “The Politics of Desire.” He is a philosophy and political science/
international studies major.

Amherst native Patrick O’Mara was recently inducted into the Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society at Stonehill College in Easton, Mass.

Amherst native Alison F. Sumski was recently inducted into the Psi Chi and Lambda Epsilon Sigma honor societies at Stonehill College in Easton, Mass.

Mont Vernon native Andrea L. Aiken was recently inducted into the Lambda Pi Eta honor society at Stonehill College in Easton, Mass.

Mont Vernon native Megan M. Brown was recently inducted into the Phi Alpha Theta and Lambda Epsilon Sigma honor societies at Stonehill College.

Nashua native Alex Girard was recently inducted into the Lambda Epsilon Sigma Honor Society chapter at Stonehill College in Easton, Mass.

New Ipswich native Julie M. Forest was recently inducted into the Sigma lota Rho Honor Society at Stonehill College in Easton, Mass.

TUFTS UNIVERSITY

These local students were named to the fall 2014 dean’s list at Tufts University in Medford, Mass.

FROM AMHERST: Meghan Gillis, Rachel Moss, Olivia Veillette.

FROM BROOKLINE: Sarah McDaniel.

FROM HUDSON: Emily Gosselin, Safiya Subegdjo.

FROM NASHUA: Madeline Doctor, Jacqueline Gillis.

UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON

Meghan Freise, of Litchfield, presented “Flyer Consulting” during the University of Dayton’s 26th annual Bro. Joseph W. Stander Symposium. The symposium recognizes and celebrates academic excellence in undergraduate and graduate education, providing an opportunity for students from all disciplines to showcase their intellectual and artistic accomplishments.

UNIVERSITY OF FINDLAY

Laura Elser, of Milford, recently participated in the 2015 Juried Student Art and Design Exhibition at The University of Findlay (Ohio). Elser showcased her creativity in painting.

UNIVERSITY OF MAINE – FARMINGTON

Melissa Eelman, of Merrimack, a freshman majoring in elementary education, was named to the fall 2014 dean’s list – High Honors at the University of Maine at Farmington.

UNIVERSITY OF ROCHESTER

These local students were named to the fall 2014 dean’s list at the University of Rochester (N.Y.).

FROM BROOKLINE: Emily Hollis Rowe, a sophomore.

FROM MILFORD: Connor Johnson Crowley, a senior political science and philosophy major.

FROM NASHUA: Samuel Karl Fordin, a sophomore physics major; Abigail S. Dewitt, a senior American studies and philosophy major.

UNIVERSITY OF TAMPA

Victoria Suslovitch, of Nashua, was recently inducted into Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Suslovitch was initiated at the University of Tampa (Fla.).

UNIVERSITY OF VERMONT

Laura C. Sercel, of Hollis, was inducted into the University of Vermont History Department’s Alpha Alpha Psi Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta.

WESTERN GOVERNORS UNIVERSITY

These local student recently received their degree from Western Governors University in Salt Lake City.

FROM MILFORD: Stacy Swanson, Master of Science in Nursing – Leadership and Management; Laura Ruths, Bachelor of Science, Nursing.

FROM NEW IPSWICH: Karen Alix, Bachelor of Science, Nursing.

FROM WILTON: Virginia Tuttle, Master of Science, Nursing – Education.

WIDENER UNIVERSITY

Marc La Vine, of Nashua, was inducted as a member of the Betta Gamma Sigma Honor Society this spring at Widener Universty in Chester, Pa.
