During the week of March 8, Maggie O’Connor of Nashua participated in Emmanuel College’s annual alternative spring break trip to Phoenix. The weeklong service trip held during the college’s traditional spring break bridges volunteer work with education and reflection on larger social issues. Emmanuel College is in Boston.

KEENE STATE COLLEGE
Natalie Riddel of Milford, a health science major at Keene State College, recently participated in a community service trip to the Dominican Republic with the college’s Community Service Department, Wine to Water and Filter Pure. On this trip Riddel worked to produce and distribute ceramic water filters that are affordable and 99.9 percent effective for families in need. The team also visited local communities and determined the filters’ impact on health and wellness, and where new filters would be needed most.
