Here are college achievements by students from Greater Nashua:

ALMA COLLEGE

These local students were named to the fall 2014 dean’s list at Alma (Mich.) College.

FROM AMHERST: Jenna Gowell.

FROM HOLLIS: Katherine Barrett.

FROM MILFORD: Isabelle Limondin.

ALVERNIA UNIVERSITY

These local students earned merit scholarships to attend Alvernia University this fall.

FROM BROOKLINE: Isabelle Linder earned Alvernia’s Trustees’ Scholarship.

FROM MILFORD: Sarah Carson earned Alvernia’s Trustees’ Scholarship.

BATES COLLEGE

Joshua Rines, a member of the swimming and diving team at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, received New England Small College Athletic Conference All-
Academic distinction for the winter 2015 season. To receive NESCAC All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point
average of at least 3.35. Rines, the son of Mr. and Mrs. David M. Rines, of Hollis, is a 2013 graduate of Hollis
Brookline High School. He majors in physics at Bates.

BECKER COLLEGE

Marissa Domenech, of Nashua, was recently inducted into Becker College’s chapter of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. Membership qualifications include first-time, full-time students, with a 3.5 GPA during their first semester. Becker College is in Worcester, Mass.

BOSTON UNIVERSITY

These local students graduated in January 2015 from Boston University.

FROM BROOKLINE: Hannah Webb, Master of Public Health in global health.

FROM MILFORD: Irene Wu, Bachelor of Science in health science, cum laude.

These local students were named to the fall 2014 dean’s list at Boston University.

FROM AMHERST: Thomas A. Andrews, Margaret E. Mcnary, Jacob A. Rettig, Anthony C. Villiotti.

FROM HOLLIS: Bailie de Lacy.

FROM MILFORD: Robert T. Finan, Irene Wu.

CHAMPLAIN COLLEGE

Colleen Lloyd, of Brookline, is a finalist in Champlain College’s 2015 Elevator Pitch Competition. Lloyd competed in the Nonprofit/Social Advocates category. The contest, which is put on by Champlain College’s BYOBiz Program, Career Services, the Center for Service & Civic Engagement, and the Office of Advancement, requires students to give a 90-second pitch to an executive (who is known as “the suit”) as they ride together in a fictional elevator. The three categories of competition are Entrepreneurs, Job/Internship Seekers and Non-Profit/Social Advocates. Champlain College is in Burlington, Vt.

COLBY COLLEGE

Marina D. Wells, of Eastham, Mass., was one of 23 students from Colby College in Waterville, Maine, to perform with the Colby College Chamber Choir and Colby String Quartet in Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall on March 9. It was the only ensemble on the bill. Wells, a senior majoring in art history and English, is the daughter of Robert Wells, of Eastham, Mass., and Melissa Belz, of Nashua.

COLBY-SAWYER COLLEGE

Colby-Sawyer College in New London has selected these local students for “Who’s Who Among Students,” which is conferred by the academic community in recognition of students who make praiseworthy contributions to the community and the school. Selections are made each fall by individual schools.

FROM HUDSON: Abigail Houlne, a nursing major.

FROM MERRIMACK: Nicole Machado, a child development major.

FROM MILFORD: Jessica Baker, a media studies major.

COLGATE UNIVERSITY

These local students were Dean’s Award recipients for the fall 2014 semester at Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y.

FROM BROOKLINE: Kara Jaramillo, an astromony/physics – undeclared major.

FROM HOLLIS: Danielle Putur, a natural sciences major; Zazhary Groves, a neuroscience major.

COLLEGE OF SAINT ROSE

These local students were named to the fall 2014 dean’s list at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, N.Y.

FROM HOLLIS: Grace Howard.

FROM LITCHFIELD: Kathryn Kierstead.

CURRY COLLEGE

These local residents were named to the fall 2014 dean’s list at Curry College in Milton, Mass.

FROM MILFORD: Cameron Douglas, Brianna Hoffman.

EMERSON COLLEGE

These local students were named to the fall 2014 dean’s list at Emerson College in Boston.

FROM BROOKLINE: David Bumpus, majoring in journalism.

FROM HOLLIS: Logan Chamberlain, majoring in writing for film and TV.

FROM HUDSON: Christina Guesferd, majoring in journalism.

FROM LITCHFIELD: Christopher Gillespie, majoring in writing, literature and publishing.

FROM NASHUA: Kristofer Bartol, majoring in writing for film and TV; Lauren Fox, majoring in journalism; Andrew Frisiello, majoring in media arts production; Tyler Gilbert, majoring in film production.

ENDICOTT COLLEGE

Kelly M. Mulligan of Merrimack, a sophomore majoring in hospitality management, was named to the fall 2014 dean’s list at Endicott College in Beverly, Mass.

HAMILTON COLLEGE

Paul J. Magnus, son of Teresa and John Magnus, of Milford, participated in the annual Hamilton College Choir Spring Break Tour, held March 14-21. The 65-member choir and College Hill singers performed at churches and cathedrals in cities that included Baltimore, Atlanta, Nashville, Cincinnati and Pittsburgh. Magnus is a first-year student at the college, located in Clinton, N.Y.
