Deadline for Nashua Lions teacher nominations is April 15
NASHUA – The Nashua Lions Club reminds residents that the deadline for nominating their favorite educator is just around the corner.
The service organization began honoring a local teacher with its Teacher of the Year recognition 15 years ago.
A number of former and current educators belong to the club, and they established the award when former teacher Barbara Whitmore became the first woman to serve as club president.
Any Nashua public or private school teacher can be nominated by anyone for consideration for the award.
People wishing to make a nomination may send their letter to the Nashua Lions Club at P.O. Box 3361, Nashua, NH 03061 by the deadline of Wednesday, April 15.
An independent panel will select the winner, and that educator and his or her family will be honored by the club at the Monday, May 18, meeting at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
The Nashua Lions meet on the first and third Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza.
The Nashua Lions have served the residents of Nashua since 1923.
