Students at Nashua church win Knights of Columbus poster contest
NASHUA – The Knights of Columbus Council 13904 at Immaculate Conception Church sponsored a Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest from mid-November to mid-December.
Students ages 5-14 from the parish and local Catholic schools were asked to submit original artwork to help promote that Jesus Christ is the true reason for celebrating Christmas.
A panel of judges from the council, parish and community picked a winner in each of three age categories, who were given a certificate and a monetary award at a presentation at the 5 p.m. Mass on Saturday, Jan. 17. Their posters, and those of the other participants, were displayed in the church hall throughout the weekend.
The winners were Gabrielle Martin, age 5-7 category; Nazirah Gerow, age 8-10; and Grace Lehto, age 11-14.
Because no other council in New Hampshire participated in the event, their posters were deemed state winners by the New Hampshire Knights of Columbus State Council, and will go on to competition at the international level in New Haven, Conn.
