MERRIMACK – Shan Hasnain, a seventh-grader at Merrimack Middle School, won the peace poster competition sponsored by the Merrimack Lions Club.

His poster was selected for its originality, artistic merit and portrayal of the contest theme, “Peace, Love and Understanding.”

Lions Club President Paul Pearsall said he was impressed by Shan’s expression and creativity. The club awarded Shan a certificate and a check for his effort.

Shan and his mother were guests at a recent club meeting.
