MILFORD – Nine Milford Middle School students were finalists in their grade-level spelling bee qualifying tests in December.

The overall winner was eighth-grader Elizabeth Noble. Elizabeth is a second-time winner; she also won in sixth grade. She will participate in the state spelling bee on Saturday, Feb. 28.

The students who participated in the school spelling bee on Friday, Jan. 9, were:

Grade 6: Holden Bertoncini, David Sixon and Amanda White.

Grade 7: Elaine Danas, Will Nichols and Joey Shepard.

Grade 8: Noble, Winter Allen and Sarah Army.
