Scholarships awarded to students from Greater Nashua
These students from Greater Nashua were awarded scholarships recently:
NASHUA
SARAH KING
Sarah King, a graduate of Nashua High School North, was awarded a $2,500 Scholar-Athlete Scholarship by the New Hampshire Fisher Cats Foundation. King was a member of the varsity volleyball team and a member of the National Honor Society. She is attending Butler University to study pharmacy.
ROTARY CLUB
The Rotary Club of Nashua announce these scholarship awards to recipients in the Nashua area:
Gabrielle Whitman received the Arsenault Scholarship of $10,000 payable over four years.
Alexandra Tatis received a $10,000 scholarship payable over four years.
Jacob Arkian received a $2,500 scholarship.
Adult Learner Program scholarships of $2,500 each went to Rosemary Infante and Ashley Gray.
AMHERST
NASHUA WEST ROTARY SCHOLARSHIPS
Seven members of the Souhegan High School Class of 2014 received scholarships from the Nashua West Rotary Club. The recipients were honored at a luncheon at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nashua.
Jack Facey and Lauren Ostrowski received The Rotary Scholarship, which is awarded to seniors in the top decile of their class who display overall excellence in academics, extracurricular activities and community involvement.
Cassie Jacobs, Chase Horton and Rishi Nair received The Suzie Fund Scholarship, which is awarded to seniors who have demonstrated admirable improvement in academic achievement and/or the ability to overcome adversity during their high school years.
Peyton Kent and Jenn Brisbois received The Interact Scholarship, which is awarded to seniors who display excellence in academic achievement, community involvement and extracurricular activities. Special weight is given to financial need and community involvement.
WILTON
PATRICK MARTIN
Patrick Martin was presented the Swymer Family Scholarship Award by the New Hampshire Fisher Cats Foundation. Martin was named Wilton-Lyndeborough Cooperative Male Athlete of the Year in 2013 and 2014. He was a member of the varsity baseball and basketball teams. Martin is attending St. Joseph’s College of Maine, where he plans to study history/secondary education.
