By Staff | Oct 2, 2014

NASHUA – Volunteers play an important role in students’ education, and each year, the New Hampshire Partners in Education and the state Department of Education recognize schools with outstanding volunteer programs.

The Academy for Science and Design announced it was chosen to receive the Blue Ribbon Award. Volunteers at the academy logged 4,383 hours during the 2013-14 school year.

A Celebration of Volunteers will be held from 9-11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24, at the Radisson Hotel, Center of New Hampshire Convention Center, Manchester. Leaders from the educational community and state government will be present.

The academy is seeking to partner with local companies and businesses for student-centered activities such as internships in science, technology, engineering and math fields; financial donations; and as presenters for its Spark Conferences.
