Nashua Elks participate in program offering $2.44 million in scholarships
Elks National Foundation Scholarship applications are available to high school seniors only by visiting www.elks.org/enf/scholars/mvs.cfm. Scholarships range from $1,000-$12,500 a year. A total of $2.44 million will be awarded in a nationwide competition to the highest-rated boys and girls in the 2015 competition. Criteria are financial need, leadership and scholarship.
The N.H. State Elks Scholarship Committee will be in charge of judging applications forwarded to them by local Elks Lodges. Application information will be available from the guidance departments of local high schools and from the lodge scholarship chairman, Past District Deputy Albert W. Savage, 86 Robinson Road, Nashua.
Applications must be returned to the steward at the Nashua Lodge of Elks on Daniel Webster Highway South or to Savage. The deadline is Dec. 5. For more information, call Savage at 888-0064.
The New Hampshire State Elks Association Scholarship Committee is also making available several thousands of dollars in one-year awards to students applying to the above for 2015-16.
