Scholarships presented to Greater Nashua students

Here is a listing of local scholarship recipients:

REGIONAL

SNHMC AUXILIARY SCHOLARSHIPS

The Southern New Hampshire Medical Center Auxiliary presented its annual scholarship awards recently, honoring four teen volunteers and five employees. Recipients were each awarded a $1,000 scholarship.

Local recipients were:

Amelia Gentes, of Nashua, was awarded the Richard L. Coit Scholarship for $1,000. Gentes has volunteered for five years and has given 351 hours to messenger service. She will attend Stonehill College to study biochemistry.

Haley Schreib, of Hudson, was awarded the Patricia Mandravelis Scholarship for $1,000. Schreib has volunteered in oncology, giving 100 hours assisting with lunches and making patients comfortable during their treatments. She will attend New Hampshire Technical Institute with an interest in pharmacy and health sciences.

Julia Brackett, of Mont Vernon, was awarded the Ann McWeeney Scholarship for $1,000. Brackett has volunteered in the gift shop for two years, giving 175 hours. She will attend Emerson College to study journalism.

Anish Loganathan, of Nashua, was awarded the Richard L. Coit Scholarship for $1,000. Loganathan volunteered in the messenger office for three years, giving 300 hours. He will attend Rutgers University to study electrical engineering.

Carrie Illg, RN, of Merrimack, was awarded the Employee Scholarship for $1,000. Illg has been an emergency department nurse at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center since 2004. She attends Rivier University and is working toward her family nurse practitioner degree.

Janet Berger, RN, of Nashua, was awarded the Medical Center Scholarship for $1,000. Bergerhas been an employee at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center since 1997 and works on 4 East. She attends Rivier University and is studying for her Master of Nursing.

Dawn Donacki-April, RN, CGRN, of Brookline, was awarded the Patricia Mandravelis Scholarship for $1,000. Donacki-April has been an employee at Southern New Hampshire Health System since 1999 and works in endoscopy. She attends Rivier University and is working toward her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

KEENE STATE AWARDS
FIRST-YEAR SCHOLARSHIPS

Keene State College awarded these scholarships to local first-year students. Awards were determined from a review of the students’ application for admission to KSC.

FROM BROOKLINE: Barbara Arnold, Meaghan Moynihan.

FROM GREENVILLE: Sarah DelVal.

FROM HUDSON: Aaron Sullivan, Kasey Ballantine, Kathryn Paquette, Lauren Ledoux.

FROM LITCHFIELD: Courtney Collins.

FROM LYNDEBOROUGH: Benjamin Thibault.

FROM MERRIMACK: Alexandra Figueroa, Amanda Falcone, Amy Gibson, Cassandra Smith, Dylan Myles, Katherine Glosser, Meredith Obecny, Stephen Zale.

FROM MILFORD: Jennifer Place, Kaytlynne White, Skylar Sinde.

FROM NASHUA: Nicole Soubosky, Christopher Guay, Ethan Taylor, Kevin Fitzpatrick, Savannah Scribner, Amber LeBlanc, Chandler Doucette, Damon Mayo, Arabella Littlefield.

HOLLIS

EVAN UDELSMAN

Plan New Hampshire announced, in partnership with the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, that Evan Udelsman, of Hollis, is a recipient of this year’s Scholarship and Fellowship Awards. Udelsman is studying industrial design at the Massachusetts College of Art. More than $30,000 was awarded to students from New Hampshire who are studying in a field related to planning, design and/or development of the built environment.

COLE GALLANT

Cole Gallant, a member of the Hollis Brookline High School Class of 2014, was awarded a $1,000 scholarship by the GFWC Brookline Women’s Club. The award was presented in June at the school’s Senior Awards Night.

MERRIMACK

MATTHEW R. CORREIA

Matthew R. Correia, who intends to study mathematics at the University of Chicago, was been awarded a National Merit Scholarship of $500-$2,000 annually, financed by the college.

MILFORD

ELYSE COUTURE

Plan New Hampshire announced, in partnership with the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, that Elyse Couture, of Milford, is a recipient of this year’s Scholarship and Fellowship Awards. Couture is studying landscape architecture at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. More than $30,000 was awarded to outstanding students from New Hampshire who are studying in a field related to planning, design and/or development of the built environment.
