College honors by Greater Nashua students
Here is a listing of college achievements by students from Greater Nashua:
Meagan Hamblin
Meagan Hamblin, of Brookline, was selected to be a Coastal Fellow for summer 2014 at the University of Rhode Island. The program is a competitive environmental fellowship initiative designed to involve undergraduate students in addressing environmental problems.
The program teams students with faculty, research staff and graduate students to conduct hands-on research that will help the students gain skills that will ensure future success. The fellows study such topics as invasive species, evolutionary genetics, wildlife habitat, aquaculture and water quality.
Ciara Musson
Hofstra University senior Ciara Musson, of Hollis, was named the Student of the Year in BS, Video/Television & Business by the Lawrence Herbert School of Communication.
Students of the Year are chosen by professors in their discipline on the basis of academic standing as well as demonstrated drive, leadership and commitment to their field of study through internships, extracurricular activities and community involvement.
About 10 students are chosen annually to represent communication majors, including journalism, radio production, film studies, rhetoric, public relations, video/television and media studies.

Ashley Iannaco
Ashley Iannaco, of Hudson, a junior studying nutrition and dietetics at the University of Rhode Island, was selected as a returning orientation leader for URI’s 2014 orientation team.
Kayla Belanger
Kayla Belanger, of Hudson, a graduating engineering student at the University of Rhode Island, was inducted into the Order of the Engineer. Belanger and other students inducted became the first group from URI to join the national professional organization and established the first link, or chapter, in Rhode Island.
