AMHERST – Alex Bedard, a student at Souhegan High School, will participate in the 2014 U.S. Naval Academy Summer Seminar.

The program, open to a select group of students from around the country and abroad, is a fast-paced, six-day leadership experience for rising seniors. The seminar teaches prospective applicants about life at the Naval Academy, where academics, athletics and professional training are key elements in developing the nation’s leaders.

Bedard is a Community Council and Ethics Forum member, as well as a varsity letter winner in football and swimming. He is a three-time individual and four-time relay state champion, as well as a team captain.
