Nashua Education Foundation to present excellence in teaching awards

NASHUA – The Nashua Education Foundation will present its first NEFie Awards on Thursday, Oct. 16, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

The NEFies will recognize Nashua public school teachers in a variety of disciplines.

Nominations can be made by administrators, teachers, parents or students.

A committee of teachers, administration, students and NEF board members will review the nominations and choose three finalists to be honored at the NEFie Gala, where the winners will be announced.

Nominations will be accepted for elementary, middle school and high school teacher of the year in Nashua.

Recognition also will be given in science, math, English, social studies, arts, physical education, foreign language, CTE and special education.

Also honored will be the winner of the Ron Krauss Outside the Profession Award, presented to someone who contributes to Nashua schools and fosters educational opportunities for Nashua youths.

Applications are available at nashuaeducationfoundation.org or by request from grants@nashuaeducationfoundation.org. Nominations must be received by Monday, June 30.
