Nashua Catholic students place wreath at Tomb of Unknown Soldier
NASHUA – Four Nashua Catholic Regional Junior High School students participated in a formal wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington Cemetery when the eighth-grade class visited Washington, D.C., on its annual class trip recently.
Siri Warren, of Amherst; Ryan Fitzgerald, of Hollis; and Jay Patel and Jaimie Allard, of Nashua, were selected by their classmates for the honor of representing the school. The students were given brief instructions on how to march and present the wreath during the ceremony before they marched in formal procession with the soldier at the tomb.
“This was quite an honor,” Siri said after the ceremony. “I wanted to do this very carefully in honor of my grandfather, who was a World War II veteran.”
