MILFORD – Seventh-grader Sarah Army won the Milford Middle School Spelling Bee on Wednesday, Jan. 29.

Sixth-grader Taylor Austin placed second. The winning word was “periodical.” Other competitors were Heather Campbell, Bill Dobbs and Andrew McNeil, grade 8; Kayla Sickler and Brianna Winder, grade 7; and Fiona Birch, William Nichols and Falon Smith, grade 6.

The competition was attended by many family members and all sixth-grade students and teachers.

Sarah will compete in the state spelling bee on Saturday, March 1.
