Sixth-grader wins Milford Middle School Geography Bee
MILFORD – Milford Middle School students competed in the final round of the school-level National Geography Bee on Tuesday, Jan. 14.
Sixth-grader Katherine Raiano earned a chance to compete in the state bee on Friday, April 4, after beating out six other finalists.
The National Geography Bee is an annual event that tests students’ knowledge on topics relevant to national and international geography, with a national-level top prize of a $50,000 scholarship.
In December, students in grades 6-8 took part in the class-level bee, and the top seven students were invited to participate as finalists in the school-level round. The finalists were:
SIXTH GRADE: Raiano, Nathan Roach and Kaitlyn Waters.
SEVENTH GRADE: Hunter McGinley and Cameron Meyer.
EIGHTH GRADE: Adrian Curless and Rae Enita.
