Hollis student plays Scrooge in annual Applewild ‘radio play’

By Staff | Dec 19, 2013

FITCHBURG, Mass. – The ghosts of Christmases Past, Present and Future were onstage at Applewild School’s fourth- and fifth-grade “radio play” recently.

The 21st annual radio play at the school was Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” adapted for radio by Anthony E. Palermo. Isabelle Hu, of Hollis, N.H., played Ebenezer Scrooge.

Kevin Brodeur directed the play, which is presented in front of a live audience that sees the performers, the sound effects crew, and the directors cuing scenes and music.

Erin Schlesinger, music director, coordinated the musical compositions and arrangements created and performed by the students.
