She also studied at Oxford University in England for a semester. Gobel has recently taken a full-time position as a photographer in the Washington, D.C., area and plans to pursue a graduate degree in the future.

GEORGIA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY

The following local students were named to the spring 2013 dean’s list at Georgia Tech in Atlanta.

Somil Shah, of Nashua, earned faculty honors for the spring 2013 semester at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. Shah earned a 4.0 academic average for the semester.

HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY

Rebecca Meyer, of Nashua, participated in Hofstra University’s peer educator program during the spring 2013 semester. Meyer was a peer educator in Advanced Television Production I, lecturing, tutoring, leading class discussions and supervising student work. Only Hofstra’s top undergraduate students are eligible to participate in the peer educator program.

Joshua Plante, of Nashua, was inducted this spring into the Phi Beta Kappa chapter at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y. Plante is majoring in computer science.
