Former YDC employee already facing 33 sex-assault related charges indicted on three additional offenses

MANCHESTER — Lucien Poulette, one of nearly a dozen former staff members at the Youth Development Center charged with various offenses stemming from alleged sexual assaults of teen residents, has been indicted on three additional felony charges, officials said.

The new charges bring to 36 the number of offenses lodged against Poulette, a 65-year-old Auburn resident arrested earlier this year.

The office of Attorney General John Formella also filed three misdemeanor-level charges of sexual assault against Poulette, officials said.

The new indictments were handed up by a Superior Court grand jury as part of the ongoing investigation into the sweeping sex-assault scandal that rocked the juvenile correctional facility, which is now known as the Sununu Youth Services Center.

An investigative task force that was convened at the outset of the investigation “will continue its mission to investigate child abuse allegations occurring at YDC/SYSC,” according to a statement issued by Formella’s office.

“This investigation remains on-going and active.”

Officials also ask anyone with information regarding criminal conduct at the YDC to contact the Attorney General’s Task Force hotline at 271-4000.

Anyone who was physically or sexually assaulted or abused at the YDC is encouraged to contact their local crisis center. Crisis center advocates are available across New Hampshire to provide free and confidential support to anyone impacted by sexual violence.
