Two injured in downtown Nashua fracas

NASHUA – Police continued to investigate the Monday morning altercation near the intersection of Prospect and Dearborn streets, in which two men were said to have sustained wounds that may have resulted from a stabbing.

Officials said the wounds were not considered life-threatening.

Lt. Dan Mederos said Monday evening that although no arrests had been made, police have been able to identify everyone involved with the incident.

Initially, police were called around 10:30 a.m. to a residence on Allds Street near Main Street for a report of a person suffering stab wounds. Officers located a person, believed to be a man, and he was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

Mederos said officers determined that one man was injured in the altercation at Prospect and Dearborn streets fled and ended up on Allds Street.

The second man was located and determined to have sustained injuries.

What caused the altercation remained under investigation, Mederos said. He added officials identified the involved parties, while adding he does not believe there is a threat to public safety.
