Recent indictments include stadium heist

NASHUA – Granted personal recognizance bail back in mid-November after insisting the sexual assault charges on which he was arrested stemmed from consentual sex with a woman he knew, a Hillsborough County South grand jury has nevertheless indicted Antonio Fuentes on nine counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault.

Five of the indictments accuse Fuentes, 40, of 17 1/2 Norton St., of sexually assaulting the woman with the use of force or violence, while the other four allege the woman did not consent to the acts, and allegedly stated “words to the effect of ‘no, please stop,'” according to the indictments.

An indictment is not an indication, or proof of, guilt, but represents the Grand Jury’s determination that enough evidence exists for prosecutors to move the case forward in Superior Court.

The alleged incidents took place on Aug. 29, in Nashua, the indictments state. According to police reports, Fuentes was initially charged with three counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault and one count of attempted AFSA. The fact Fuentes was indicted on nine charges indicates that police discovered additional evidence through their investigation.

At the November hearing, Judge Charles Temple agreed to release Fuentes on personal recognizance bail, with orders that he remain on home confinement and abide by a 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew, as well as have no contact with the alleged victim. It’s not known if Fuentes is still free on bail.
