Car collision veers off road, into house

NASHUA – The driver of one of two vehicles involved in a relatively minor crash on New Dunstable Road Sunday morning reportedly told police the collision caused her to lose control of the car, which then entered a driveway and came to rest up against the porch of a residence.

The woman, whose identity wasn’t immediately known, was intially reported to be trapped in the car, which drew two fire engines, a ladder truck and an ambulance to the scene.

But the first crews to arrive discovered a wooden rail, possibly from a fence, leaning against the car, preventing the woman from being able to open the drivers side door.

She was evaluated by paramedics inside the ambulance, and it was reportedly decided she would be transported to the hospital for observation of what were described as minor injuries.

Police, firefighters and ambulance personnel were called around 11 a.m. to New Dunstable Road at the corner of Dale Street for a report of a car into a building involving entrapment.

The residence involved is a large, two-and-a-half-story home at 63 New Dunstable Road. The property runs between Donna and Dale streets.

The car appears to have entered the property at a driveway that runs off New Dunstable Road near the Dale Street end. Damaged fencing lay in the path of the car, which came to rest against the front porch next to a tree.

The circumstances that led to the initial two-car crash weren’t immediately known. Nobody in the other car was injured.
