NASHUA – Marilynn Ortiz, 38, no address given, faces aggravated felonious sexual assault charges after she allegedly abused a 5-year-old child.

The investigation began in August. Officers arrested Ortiz on Tuesday, charging her with the special felony, as well as a misdemeanor for filing a false report to law enforcement.

The special felony is punishable up to a maximum sentence not to exceed 20 years, exclusive of fines.

Ortiz was released on personal recognizance. She is scheduled to be arraigned at the Hillsborough County Superior Court-South on Oct. 17.
