Annie Kuster, Democrat of New Hampshire, speaks on Monday at the Nashua Regional Planning Commission office about the Invest in American Railroads Act she and two other lawmakers sponsored to help New Hampshire fund rail initiatives, especially in the southern part of the state.

WASHINGTON. – On Friday, U.S. Rep. Annie Kuster (NH-02) released the following statement after receiving the first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine:

“Over the past week, I have been heartened to see thousands of frontline workers and those who are most at risk in New Hampshire receive the COVID-19 vaccine. I am also pleased that Moderna’s safe, effective vaccine has now been authorized by the FDA and millions of doses will be distributed across the United States in the coming weeks.

“Today, upon the advice of my physician, I received the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in Washington, DC. I believe in the science and I want to demonstrate to my constituents in New Hampshire that this vaccine is safe and effective. I will continue to wear a mask, keep social distance, and follow CDC recommendations to stop the spread of this vicious virus.

“As the House and Senate continue to negotiate a COVID-19 relief package, I remain committed to ensuring Granite Staters and all Americans have the support and resources needed to overcome this pandemic.”

Rep. Annie Kuster is a member of the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee where she has been actively focused on funding, research and approval of the COVID-19 vaccine. Since the beginning of this year, Kuster has received regular briefings on the progress of Operation Warp Speed, the federal distribution plan for the COVID-19 vaccine.
