Last week, St. Joseph Hospital honored Brooke Breene, CPhT, infusion pharmacy technician, as its Mission Champion for December 2024.

Since joining St. Joseph Hospital in November 2022, Breene has loved the unique opportunity to work across two departments: Pharmacy and the Cancer Center. She shared that the incredible people in both teams make her job especially rewarding. One of Breene’s key responsibilities is mixing chemotherapy medications for patients. While her role might not always be in the spotlight, she finds deep fulfillment in being part of the patients’ treatment journey.

Kristen Billings, MSN, RN, OCN, clinical nurse manager of the Cancer Center, says it best, “Brooke does more than mix medications for us. She understands that there is a person behind that medication and shows true compassion in caring for that patient. She goes above and beyond to support the infusion staff, ensuring patients receive what they need to make their cancer journey easier. Brooke is an incredible asset to both the Cancer Center and the pharmacy.”
