New Hampshire group donates over $128,000 through charitable gaming to support homelessness and affordable housing in New Hampshire
New Hampshire Group (NHG), owner of four New Hampshire charitable gaming facilities, has announced charitable gaming donations totaling over $128,000 to two New Hampshire non-profits focused on ending homelessness and providing affordable housing options to low-income families and individuals.
The NH Coalition to End Homelessness has received $87,669 from charitable gaming at Filotimo Casino in Manchester. The funds will help the non-profit with research, education, and advocacy on issues related to homelessness and support agencies with best practices to provide proactive and quality programs. The funding also supports the Granite Leaders, which provides leadership and advocacy training to people experiencing homelessness, so their voices can be heard across the state.
NH Housing Benefits received a check in the amount of $40,657 from charitable gaming. The funds will help the organization maintain 287 units of low-income housing, ensuring that those currently housed will continue to have a safe and comfortable living environment. It will also enable NH Housing Benefits to make necessary repairs and upgrades to the housing units.
“We are incredibly grateful to New Hampshire Group for their generous contributions to our organizations,” said Maria Devlin, President and Chief Executive Officer of Families in Transition the parent organization of both nonprofits. “This support will help us continue to provide safe, affordable housing options to those in need and provide critical resources and support to those experiencing homelessness in New Hampshire.”
“This is charitable gaming at its finest,” stated Jamie Hartman, Executive Vice President of NHG. “Both low-income housing and homelessness are two important issues we are addressing in the Granite State and we are honored that our charitable gaming facility is able to make such a positive impact in the local community.”
