Family Promise continues supporting families affected by pandemic

By Staff | Mar 20, 2022

The Covid-19 pandemic has carved a path of destruction through our community leaving families with little ability to withstand its impact. Job losses, the housing shortage, health issues, and marital crises have become a reality. Many families are homeless as a result. Family Promise of Southern New Hampshire can attest to this crisis and are inviting the community to act by supporting the final launch of their capital campaign.

To brace for the full impact of the pandemic, Family Promise launched the “Building Home Building Hope” Capital Campaign in the spring of 2020, enabling them to transform the former Infant Jesus School in Nashua into a new transitional housing facility.

Construction was completed in record time; mid-February 2021 families began to move in. The capacity of Family Promise was doubled. They are now able to house and help up to 24 families, continuing their mission of ending family homelessness, one family at a time.

“We are so grateful for our local community of business partners, donors, volunteers and friends. It took so many to make this happen, and it was completed just in the nick of time. Our families and the community need us, now more than ever.” stated Pam Wellman, Executive Director.

Entering the final year of their three-year capital campaign, Family Promise needs support from the community to ensure success of the families that are working hard to build a foundation for long-term success. They are asking for financial contributions to help close the gap on construction costs, as well as afford necessary program expansions and new building expenses.

Family Promise of Southern New Hampshire is entering their twentieth year of providing safe housing, education, training and guidance to families experiencing homelessness.
