UpReach announces community open barn event

By Staff | Oct 23, 2021

GOFFSTOWN – UpReach Therapeutic Equestrian Center will host a community open barn event from 10 a.m. to noon on Nov. 6.

This free event is open to the public, and will feature refreshments, photos with UpReach ponies, games, tours of the barn and facility featuring newly renovated conference and kitchen space. The renovations were made possible by a partnership with Fulcrum Associates along with their partners, who donated all labor and materials to build out new handicap accessible restroom facilities, upgraded kitchen including cabinets, countertops, plumbing, painting and the installation of new windows and drop ceiling, along with all electrical work, flooring and painting.

UpReach serves more than 100 participants each week in their therapeutic riding and driving program, along with children and adults navigating adverse experiences and trauma in its curriculum-based unmounted programs. Both the mounted and unmounted programs draw on the unique, powerful and proven benefits of connecting with horses in order to foster independence, confidence, trust, communication, improved mobility and overall mental health and wellness.

“The freshly renovated space allows UpReach to better serve our participants, their families and caregivers,” said UpReach Executive Director Karen Kersting. “We’re so grateful to Fulcrum and very much looking forward to welcoming members of the community to the barn to say hello and check out our recently renovated conference and kitchen space.”

“The Fulcrum team is so proud to be partnering with UpReach to make facility upgrades that offer an enhanced experience to programs that improve the quality of life for so many members of our community,” said Fulcrum Project Manager Kayla Gendreau.
