Poetry Corner for April 3-4

Always
Silence
What words
Where is the hope
There is no syllable
or soft sound to comfort you
Not even the sunshine
can comprehend
or stop the tears
of your shattered heart
There are no words
Believe me
I have searched
every single
scripture and sonnet
I have found only one word
-Love
I give you my love
right now
as you focus
and breathe
in this moment
Remember your love
You are loved
Now
and into our next life
Always
So much love

She asked me the simplest of questions without knowing the deep history of the words.
She looked into my eyes with a flicker of realization and asked,
“How have I never met a heart like yours before?”
Love, there are no two hearts in the world like ours!
I have used this same heart
to give the same love with just as much passion,
and it has been broken many times.
I have put the pieces back together, learning the lessons along the way, and enough just to get through the day on others!
They carried me here to now. They have been guided by you from well before we knew we were looking.
But a love like ours is not for the inexperienced. We know what it is to love and lose, build and crumble.
We lived a life that had not happened yet with the faith that it would, and here is the miracle of how we became ourselves.
Without any of the times we thought we would never get through, we have endless days to put them behind us and keep
adding space. I look at the way I got here and thank god that it took as long to meet a heart like yours.

I wonder if I
will ever find the right words
so you will hear me
I’m a twisted tongue
your ears cannot find sense in
these visions put down
these listening palms
excoriated sanguine
waiting for the words
