Poetry Corner for March 14

By Staff | Mar 13, 2021

a measured path to repeat

treading stone erodes into sand

traveling a looped passway

is it possible to break away

to spread out as something new

something gold

exalted passage from

broken past to fulfilling future

you are not worth X gnashes

teeth down, tastes like ashes

on hard leather bits

but you, you are gold

grow exhausted by the constant trample

of elected feet on denigrated palms

till fingers close to fists

and the fulcrum twists

emulsifying red and blue to rainbows

and you are gold

I want to crack breastbone

find the gilded heart in every body

there is no set to your worth

time to fill the air with mirth

and burst the world open

show them you are gold

so many stories already told

so many more to come

wrench free of convention

embolden dissention

you have so much inside you

you are gold

so many possibilities to bubble up

and spring from your mind

open your mouths wide

from your fingers let it be plied

I for one, cannot wait to see it

because you, you are gold
