On behalf of the Hudson Lions Club, Roger LaTulippe, scholarship chair, awarded the 2020 Lion Ron Boisvert Scholarship for continuing education in the medical field to Bailey Urbach of Hudson. Urbach is a 2015 graduate of Alvirne High School and a 2019 graduate of The Ohio State University with a BS in neuroscience, with honors in the arts and sciences. Urbach has logged many hours of volunteer service throughout her high school and college years. The neuroscience program at Ohio State partnered with Mount Carmel West Hospital to provide a medical volunteering program for students in the major. Urbach logged 220 volunteer hours in that medical program, gaining meaningful medical experience while providing a high level of support and care to patients. She is entering her freshmen year at Tufts University Medical School, where she is studying to become a medical physician. The $1,000 scholarship is in memory of the late Lion Ron Boisvert, who succumbed to cancer in 2006. Although quiet in demeanor, Boisvert was an active member of the Hudson Lions Club, working behind the scenes in many Lions projects for the benefit of the Hudson community.
