Apollo: Hello there! My name is Apollo, I have travelled all the way from the state of Arkansas to find my forever home, and now look at me, I am in the paper! Woof! I am a handsome one year old Akita mix with black and white fur. I am a bit nervous, and am still learning that the world isn’t such a scary place, but I’ll need the help of my new family to build up my courage. I have a bit of anxiety and mild handling issues, but once I warm up to you I am really a lovable guy. I enjoy playing with tennis balls and absolutely love squeaky toys! I also enjoy nice snuggles and calm walks. I must go to a home with no children, and will need to meet the entire family before going home with you. If I sound like the dog for you, then stop by and speak to an adoption counselor about me! We all have our age appropriate vaccines, we’ve been spayed and neutered, and we have been micro chipped. Keenan: Hi there! My name is Keenan and I am a beautiful white female parakeet. I came to the shelter as a stray, so not much is known about my past. Perhaps I was a bird-rock star who travelled the world performing birdie concerts – who knows? For a bird, I’m actually rather calm and quiet. I chirp softly on occasion, and may sing to you if you ask nicely, but other than that I’m simply a delight to have around. I also can entertain myself for hours. I’ve been known to grip onto the bars of my cage and slide down then hop back up and do it again. I find that to be a grand ole time! If you look closely at my lovely white feathers, you’ll see baby blue accents – stunning if I do say so myself. I enjoy listening to the humans as they chat about their day, and nibbling on my millet treat. I’d like to go to a home with someone who is familiar with birds, and can give me my best life! If I sound like the bird for you give the shelter a call or stop by during business hours.
