Coming June 1: Curbside pickup, books by mail at Nashua Public Library

By Staff | May 30, 2020

Starting June 1, the library will offer curbside pickup of materials and reopen the Books by Mail program with expanded eligibility. The book drops are open now.

Curbside pickup: Starting June 1, we’ll deliver library materials to your car in our parking lot.

You can start ordering materials now by placing holds on them in our online catalog or by calling 603-589-4600. Once curbside pickup begins June 1, holds will be ready for pickup within a few hours (assuming they are not checked out to someone else).

You will be notified by email, text, or phone when they are ready. If you don’t already receive your hold notifications by email or text, email us or call 603-589-4600 to set it up and get faster service.

When you arrive, park in a spot with a lawn sign saying “Curbside Pickup,” call 603-589-4600, and tell us the number of your spot.

Curbside pickup is available Monday to Thursday from 10 am to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Expanded Books by Mail: Eligibility for the Books by Mail program has been expanded.

If you live in Nashua and meet at least one of the following criteria, you qualify for Books by Mail:

You have disabilities that prevent you from visiting the library

You are visually impaired

You have a condition that puts you at high risk of serious illness from COVID-19

You are 60 or older

For more details on how to sign up, visit our Books by Mail web page.

Book drops: The library book drops have reopened. You’re welcome to bring back items you have checked out. But if you can’t get to the library now, no worries; we aren’t charging overdue fines yet.

For the safety of our staff and other borrowers, the items you drop off will be quarantined for at least 72 hours before being checked in. So don’t be alarmed if they still appear in your account a few days after you return them.
