Annual hydrant flushing program to begin in Hudson

By Staff | Apr 26, 2020

The Hudson Water Utility will be conducting its annual hydrant flushing program in the Town of Hudson starting on Sunday May 3, 2020, and finishing around May 31, 2020.

Flushing is scheduled at NIGHT between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. and will continue throughout the month of May until the entire system has been completed. Hydrant flushing is conducted to remove any accumulated sediment from the water pipes that may impair water quality. The program also provides the opportunity to inspect hydrants to ensure they will operate properly in the event of a fire.

During the flushing program you may notice a temporary loss in water pressure and water discoloration. If you experience discolored water run the cold water for 5 to 10 minutes, or until clear. If your water does not clear after 24 hours, contact Hudson Water Utility at 603-866-6002.

Also, please avoid doing laundry during this period of Time. If it’s an after  hours emergency contact WhiteWater, Inc. at 603-324-8318.
