MANCHESTER — Next week, Eversource is partnering with leaders from the City of Keene on the NHSaves Small Business Energy Solutions Initiative to help local small businesses reduce their energy costs and impact on the environment. From Tuesday, September 14, through Wednesday, September 15, energy experts from Eversource-approved contractors XLFleet and National Resource Management. Inc. will be in the community meeting with businesses, scheduling no-cost energy assessments and answering questions about energy-efficient equipment upgrades and other improvements.

“Energy efficiency is a great way for businesses of all sizes to reduce their energy bills and lower their carbon footprint,” said Keene City Manager Elizabeth Dragon. “This initiative will make it easier for Keene businesses to learn about and take advantage of the energy-saving solutions that NHSaves provides, many at little or no cost to the business owner.”

The Small Business Energy Solutions Initiative begins with a no-cost energy assessment identifying energy-saving opportunities such as new lighting, occupancy sensors, and refrigeration controls. Some of the improvements, such as installing new energy-efficient screw-in light bulbs, occur right on the spot. Larger improvement projects are scheduled for installation at a future date and may qualify for incentives from Eversource through NHSaves and interest-free financing to offset the cost of upgrades.

“Our Small Business Energy Solutions Initiative provides personal attention to small businesses to help them take advantage of the energy-saving solutions available to them,” said Eversource Energy Efficiency Spokesperson Kate Peters. “We hope to help small businesses throughout Keene save money and energy by completing upgrades through this local initiative, and we encourage any business owner interested in learning more to contact us directly.”

Local, licensed electricians contracted by Eversource will complete approved projects, ensuring minimal disruption to daily business operations and following all current COVID-19 safety protocols. All high-efficiency products installed as part of the program will include warranties for both materials and labor.
