LaBelle Winery announces name of new market in Derry

By Staff | Mar 30, 2021

Winemaker Amy LaBelle and husband Cesar Arboleda, co-owners of LaBelle Winery in Derry, New Hampshire, formerly Brookstone Events & Golf, have announced that the name of their soon-to-be-opened culinary market and gift shop will be LaBelle Market. The new retail store is scheduled to open in mid- to late-May.

LaBelle Market will reside in an existing structure on the 45-acre property that formerly housed Brookstone’s pro shop. The building will be entirely gutted and renovated, resulting in a completely new space reminiscent of a French épicerie.

“The concept of LaBelle Market came about after many years of traveling in the United States and abroad,” LaBelle says. “I often visited markets selling incredibly fresh, local and unique products, and always found shopping at them to be fun and inspiring. The aromas of freshly ground coffee and ripe produce, along with the shops’ beautiful aesthetics, often stayed with me long after I’d returned home. I wanted to bring the same type of experience to our customers in New Hampshire.”

Designer and architect Peter Niemitz of the Niemitz Design Group of Boston, known for his exceptional restaurant and event venue projects, will design LaBelle Market’s new interiors. Fulcrum Associates of Amherst, New Hampshire, will manage the renovation.

LaBelle Market’s logo design is the result of LaBelle’s vision for the market and the talent of LaBelle Winery’s creative director, James Mojonnier.

“We sought to convey the artisanal quality of the market’s offerings and ambiance with hand lettering,” Mojonnier says. “Wine lies at the center of everything we do, so we also wanted to include that concept in a way that is both whimsical and sophisticated. I think the final design captures the structure and concept of the market itself.”

LaBelle Market will have an approachable, comfortable ambiance. The menu will be handwritten on chalkboards. Both indoor and outdoor seating will be available, with the outdoor tables arranged beneath the building’s ornate covered veranda. The market will overlook the property’s golf course and 3 acres of vineyards, vegetable and flower gardens that will be established in May 2021. The market’s color palette will consist of soothing earth tones accented by pops of red, black and white.

LaBelle Market will be open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. to serve the needs of guests who may not have time to dine at Americus, LaBelle’s newest restaurant, which will open in May and be adjacent to the market.

Prepared and made-to-order foods at LaBelle Market will include house-made croissants; muffins; Danishes; scones; breakfast and specialty sandwiches; salads; prepared entrees and sides; grain bowls; and wood-fired pizzas. Grocery items will include assorted breads; artisanal cheeses; charcuterie; house-made ice cream; prime cuts of beef, marinated beef tips and chicken for the home grill; and house-made pasta. Complete family meal and pizza kits that can be reheated quickly will also be available. Menu items will change with the seasons in order to focus on the most desirable products and freshest ingredients.

“Our customers deserve healthy, made-from-scratch food. We want to be the place people come to when they have to feed a busy family,” LaBelle says. “We’ll have everything guests need to serve creative, affordable and beautiful meals to friends and family with little to no effort. Extras like fresh-cut flowers, LaBelle wines and house-made ice cream will help make any occasion special.”

LaBelle Winery’s culinary director, Peter Agostinelli, says, “LaBelle Market will enable our guests to take a little bit of the winery home with them. In this busy day and age, it will be a great place to stop and grab some wine, healthy food options, or some decadent treats.”

A grand opening celebration for LaBelle Market and Americus restaurant will be announced in early May.

The Links at LaBelle Winery, a 9-hole golf course, Mini Links miniature golf, and the event center will open in April. Construction on a sparkling wine tasting barn, a new structure on the artisan village-style property, will be completed in July.
