Service Credit Union renews sponsorship of nonprofit Step Up Parents

By Staff | Dec 31, 2020

Step Up Parents is thrilled to announce that Service Credit Union will continue as an official sponsor in the new year. Step Up Parents, based on the seacoast of New Hampshire, provides financial assistance to kinship caregivers throughout the state who are raising the children of parents with substance use disorder.

“Service Credit Union is proud to support Step Up Parents and their critical mission of providing support for the amazing caregivers raising children of parents with substance abuse disorders,” says Service CU’s VP of Marketing Wendy Beswick. “They are truly heroes, and we are thankful for their work in helping New Hampshire families.”

Denyse Richter, SUP Founder, reports, “Since we began in 2019, SUP has helped over 100 kinship families, giving over $42,000 in assistance. Many of our families live in the communities serviced by Service Credit Union, and we are grateful for their partnership and renewed support to continue our work in 2021.

With over 12,000 grandparents and other relatives raising children in New Hampshire, the need for support and resources is great. If you, or someone you know, is a relative caregiver raising children of a loved one struggling with substance abuse, please visit www.stepupparents.net, call 603-319-4739, or email info@stepupparents.net.
