Klemm’s Family Stores opens fifth location in New Hampshire
SALEM – Together with Gov. Chris Sununu and the New Hampshire Lottery, Klemm Family Stores celebrated the opening of its fifth location with the newest store encompassing Klemm’s Express Carwash at 4 Mall Road in Salem. Klemm’s Family Stores have become New Hampshire institutions in Windham and Salem–and longtime destinations for New Hampshire Lottery players. Klemm’s Family Store celebrated today with a ribbon cutting ceremony, free food, giveaways and discounted car washes all day. All proceeds benefited the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Salem.
“We are pleased to be able to continue expanding our family of stores, which we have designed as classic New England country stores,” said Owner Arthur Klemm, who also previously served as a New Hampshire Lottery Commissioner. “When we opened our first store in Windham, there was just one traffic light in town and we would provide 300 to 400 cups of coffee every day to commuters. Klemm’s Family Stores have evolved with times and we are proud to continue serving the people of Windham and Salem, commuters and the traveling public.”
Klemm’s Family Stores are modernized convenience stores offering fresh pizza, baked goods, sandwiches, craft beer and wine, as well as New Hampshire-made products and gift baskets. Just over one year ago, the Klemm family celebrated the 40th anniversary of the opening of its first store, Klemm’s Mobil, located at 124 Indian Rock Road in Windham.
“Our network of more than 1,400 retailers across the state is the backbone of the New Hampshire Lottery and Klemm’s Family Stores have been a destination for our players for more than four decades now,” said Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director, New Hampshire Lottery. “The Klemm family has been a tremendous partner to the New Hampshire Lottery as we have continued to evolve through the years and we offer our congratulations for opening what will surely be another successful store.”
The Klemm family opened its first store, Klemm’s Mobil, in 1979 in Windham and the store quickly became a destination for commuters driving to Boston and for families visiting Canobie Lake Park. The Klemm family also owns and operates stores at 120 Pleasant Street in Salem and at 18 Mammoth Road in Windham.
