NASHUA – Emily Geary, 32, of Nashua, was taken into custody on Sept. 2 following an alleged vehicle theft from Monahan Manor.

According to the Nashua Police Department, on Sept. 1, officers received a report about a vehicle that was stolen from the apartment complex at 41 Myrtle St. The victim reportedly told police that his vehicle was taken while he was away on vacation. He also said he never gave Geary permission to use his vehicle as he did not know her.

The following day, officers stopped a vehicle that was reportedly driven by Geary.

She allegedly attempted to dupe police by providing the registration of a similar vehicle. However, officers quickly determined that the car she was driving matched the description of the vehicle that was stolen from Monahan Manor.

Geary has been charged with receiving stolen property of more than $1,500.

She was held without bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Sept. 2.

Under state law, if convicted, she could face up to 15 years in prison, up to five years of probation and a fine of up to $4,000.
