NASHUA – Jose Colon, 33, of Manchester, was taken into custody on Sept. 1 in connection with an alleged domestic assault.

According to the Nashua Police Department, on Aug. 31, a woman told officers that she was assaulted by Colon, her romantic partner. She told police that he hit her in the face and seriously injured her.

Colon has been charged with second degree assault-domestic violence.

He was held without bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Sept. 2.

Under state law, if convicted, he could face up to seven years in prison, up to five years of probation and a fine of up to $4,000.
