NASHUA – Intense flames broke out in the single-family home at 5 Lynde St. just before 4 a.m. on Aug. 22.
According to Nashua Fire Rescue, firefighters with Engine 1 observed “heavy fire” shooting from the residence. This triggered a second alarm to bring in the city’s remaining fire companies.
Firefighters were slowed by “extreme hoarding conditions” and several hose lines were needed to knock down the flames. One firefighter sustained an ankle injury.
It was later determined that the residents had gotten out of the two-and-a-half story home. The Red Cross has responded to provide assistance going forward.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation by the city Fire Marshal’s Office.
