By Christopher Roberson - Staff Writer | Aug 19, 2026

NASHUA – In less than two hours on Aug. 17, Nashua Fire Rescue responded to two fires in the city.

The first incident, an appliance fire at 11 Ledgewood Hills Dr., was reported at 3:56 p.m.

Firefighters with Engine 6 were the first to arrive at the three-story townhouse. Once inside, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and proceeded to the second floor. At that point, there was zero visibility and a Thermal Imaging Camera was needed.

Firefighters ultimately located the fire and quickly knocked down the flames.

Engine 2 arrived a short time later and provided water to Engine 6.

One resident was home at the time and got out safely.

The second fire, at 11 Newcastle Dr., broke out at 5:47 p.m. Firefighters with Ladder 3 arrived first at the scene and observed light smoke coming from the roof vents and soffits of the three-story home.

Ladder 3 was assisted by firefighters with Ladder 2 as well as Engines 2, 3 and 4. The fire was located in the ceiling on the third floor and was quickly brought under control. Four units were damaged by the blaze.

Several residents were home at the time and everyone got out safely.

The cause of both fires remains under investigation by the Nashua Fire Marshal’s Office.
