MANCHESTER – State Rep. Alicia Gregg (D-Nashua) and nine of her State House colleagues recently volunteered to serve on the New Hampshire Forum’s inaugural bipartisan Legislative Advisory Team.

According to the Forum, the purpose of the Legislative Advisory Team is to “put citizens at the center of the legislative process.”

“The New Hampshire Forum works to give everyday Granite Staters a direct voice in state policy,” said Gregg. “Their goal is to gather input from residents across the state, identify areas of common ground and help translate those shared priorities into legislative action. As an advisor, I help provide legislative context and perspective as they build that work.”

She said she volunteered to serve on the board to invite input from more residents. One of the board’s priorities will be to evaluate the viability of legislative proposals submitted by residents.

Proposals approved by the board will be presented during the Civic Assembly process for consideration during the 2027 legislative session.

The board also provides the opportunity to work with officials from opposing parties.

“I’ve always believed some of the best policy comes from working across the aisle, this board reflects that,” said Gregg. “Republicans, Democrats and Undeclared sitting at the same table, focused on shared priorities instead of party lines.”

Gregg said the Forum’s new civic engagement model goes beyond traditional representation as it is not limited to particular districts.

“It aggregates input from Granite Staters across the state, looking for the priorities that hold up across party lines and across regions. It starts with the issue and works to find where districts actually agree,” said Gregg. “Our role is to help make sure that when common ground emerges, there’s a legislator’s perspective in the room.”

Gregg is joined on the board by State Sen. Timothy Lang (R-Sanbornton), State Sen. Tara Reardon (D-Concord), State Rep. Michael Bordes (R-Laconia), State Rep. Daniel Veilleux (D-Amherst), State Rep. Kimberly Rice (R-Hudson), State Rep. William Boyd (R-Merrimack), State Rep. Jessica Grill (D-Manchester), State Rep. David Lundgren (R-Londonderry) and State Rep. Loren Selig (D-Durham).

Veilleux said he views the new board as a way to bring attention to “unnecessarily politicized” issues such as affordability, housing and property taxes.

“It’s my hope that by demonstrating the importance of these issues to real people, we can build trust, find common ground and identify pathways to pass legislation that can make a real difference,” he said. “I think there is a real opportunity to show that meaningful progress is still possible when we focus on the issues people are actually facing.”
