NASHUA – Rivier University alumna Laura Gallagher, the registered nurse clinical practice manager at Elliot Hospital, recently received the university’s Outstanding Nursing Professional Award.

Gallagher graduated from Rivier in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing. She then began her career as an RN at the Hanover Hill nursing home in Manchester. During her time there, Gallagher took on leadership positions including infection control nurse and nursing director.

Hanover Hill was also the first nursing home to fall into the clutches of the COVID-19 pandemic. During those turbulent months, Gallagher collaborated with state and local officials to ensure the health and safety of her residents.

Gallagher has now been the RN clinical practice manager at Elliot since 2023. In that capacity, she supervises physicians and staff serving patients 65 and older.

Looking back, she has credited Rivier with putting such an emphasis on professionalism and accountability.

“Rivier helped me see how impactful our work is to the community,” she said.

Gallagher also went on to earn her Master’s degree in business administration from Western Governors University earlier this year.
