HUDSON – Donald Quinn, 48, of Arlington, Mass., was taken into custody on Aug. 7 in connection with a check that was reportedly stolen from Reeds Ferry Sheds.

According to the Hudson Police Department, on April 16, officers responded to the scene at 3 Tracy Ln. and were told that a check was taken from the company’s mailbox overnight.

Quinn had allegedly altered the check and attempted to cash it at a bank in Haverhill, Mass. The bank then contacted Reeds Ferry employees, who confirmed that the check was fraudulent.

Working with Hudson Police, investigators with the Haverhill Police Department reviewed photographs of Quinn at the bank as well as images of his identification and the check.

Quinn has been charged with theft by unauthorized taking. He was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Nashua District Court on Sept. 22.

Under state law, if convicted, Quinn could face up to 15 years in prison, up to five years of probation and a fine of up to $4,000.
