CONCORD – Eddy Balbuena-Gomez, 32, of the Dominican Republic, pleaded guilty on Aug. 5 to transporting fentanyl and methamphetamine from Massachusetts to New Hampshire.

According to court documents, law enforcement officials became aware of the drug trafficking organization in the early months of 2024. They later learned that the organization was moving “multiple kilograms” of fentanyl and methamphetamine.

On a number of occasions, Balbuena-Gomez drove from Massachusetts to New Hampshire to sell drugs to an undercover officer. Balbuena-Gomez was charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances. He has been incarcerated since October 2024 and is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 10.

Under federal law, he could face up to 10 years to life in prison, at least five years of supervised release and a fine of up to $10 million.
