NASHUA — Traveling Tooth Fairies celebrated the official ribbon cutting of its new mobile utility van during the Rotary Club of Nashua luncheon at Nashua Country Club on July 20.

The event marked an important milestone in the organization’s mission to bring free preventive dental care directly to children in schools and community settings. While Traveling Tooth Fairies primarily serves children in the Greater Nashua area, the organization also travels to communities throughout New Hampshire to expand access to preventive oral healthcare.

Dental caries is the most common chronic disease of childhood, yet it is almost entirely preventable. Too many children miss school because they are experiencing dental pain, and too many families face barriers to accessing care. Traveling Tooth Fairies was created to remove those barriers by providing free preventive dental services where children learn and grow. Since launching its school-based program, the organization has served thousands of children through oral health screenings, fluoride varnish, dental sealants, minimally invasive restorative care, oral health education, and referrals to establish dental homes.

The new mobile utility van will allow Traveling Tooth Fairies to expand its reach, transport equipment and supplies more efficiently, and provide preventive dental care to even more children across New Hampshire.

The mobile utility van was made possible through the generosity of the Rotary Club of Nashua and a Rotary Global Grant. Traveling Tooth Fairies also recognizes the invaluable support of its community partners, including Northeast Delta Dental, the Nashua Lions Club, the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, United Way of Greater Nashua, Hannaford Supermarkets, the New Hampshire Children’s Foundation, and the New Hampshire Dental Society. Their partnership and commitment have helped make this milestone possible and continue to strengthen the organization’s mission of improving children’s oral health across New Hampshire.
